Fans Forum Transcript (page 3)
How are the finances?

ME: Finances could always be better. Pre-season is always difficult because the revenue streams are not there. Our sponsorship last season was high and I anticipate that this season they will be even higher.

How is the sale of the Moat Ground going?

ME: It's still progressing but it is a very complicated process. I'm still having meetings with the local council, members and the local MP but it's a long process. When we do move the ground will be built for our needs and will continue to be developed as we progress as a club.

The new ground will be a community facility that Gresley Rovers will manage. We have at present 14 junior teams and we would make full use of any facility we have. We would need it to be fully utilised and I'm sure it would.

Do you think a Midland League will happen?

ME: It will go ahead - that's my opinion. I suspect some clubs or leagues will object. It looks like the new Midland league will come under the UniBond League in an endeavour to bring the travelling down as our First Division teams has some of the longest travelling distances of all the non-league. Travel is a major cost for us.

Do we look at players from Derby County's academy?

GN: We do have contact with them now and again and we do get 'tipped off' when players are released. Alan, in his new role, will now be looking to build a relationship with Derby County as we do not have such a close relationship with them as we do with Notts County.
