Moat crisis

Gresley Rovers boss John McGinlay faces a defensive crisis ahead of his side's trip to Dr Martens Western Division strugglers Bromsgrove Rovers tomorrow (3pm).
McGinlay is definitely without Matt Warren (hamstring) and Neil Broadhurst (groin), while Ian Bluck (Achilles), Carl Middleton (ankle) and Andy Cheetham (back) are doubtful.

And McGinlay's problems will get worse after Saturday as 16-year-old goalkeeper Simon Baldwin plays his last game before going on a months loan to Notts County.

With Richard Selby having picked up an eye injury on Tuesday night and with Phil McGing not having contacted McGinlay since being told to go away and "sort himself out" after turning up late for the league cup defeat at Stamford, Rovers will be left with just Ian Wright, although the manager may bring in somebody else.

But it is McGinlay's defence, which is the worry ahead of what he thinks will be a tough game against the side second from bottom.

Said McGinlay: "They are never easy games against sides near the bottom of the table as they battle even harder. The injuries show we need to bring in new faces, and hopefully we will make inroads into that next week."
