The meeting of the Dr Martens Southern League Joint Liaison Committee due to be held on Thursday, 2nd May, has been postponed, with what little business there is to be dealt with by correspondence.
It appeared that the Dr Martens League had received a record number of applications back in January, but, depending on final league tables, only the following three clubs will qualify for promotion subject to their finishing positions: Taunton Town (Screwfix Direct Western League) Fleet Town (Jewson Wessex League) Bromsgrove Rovers (Midland Alliance).
The application from Bromsgrove Rovers is subject to clarification from the Local Authority concerning the club’s tenure on its ground, but evidence suggests at the moment the club does not meet the membership criteria of the Dr Martens League.

The first club promoted will replace Bloxwich United, who resigned during the season, while subject to the number of clubs being promoted, the bottom clubs in the Eastern and Western Divisions will be relegated.

So, as it stands, only Rocester and Wisbech Town could suffer relegation with Corby Town escaping yet again. However, that could change again if Taunton Town don't manage to finish in a qualifying place in the Western League and Bromsgrove's application is turned down. The Somerset outfit still have a number of games to play yet.
In effect, all three teams who finished in the bottom places could escape the drop, with Fleet Town bringing the numbers back up to force.
