Jackie North
The club are very saddened to hear about the passing of Jackie North, wife of former club chairman Barry last week.

Jackie was diagnosed with Cancer a couple of months back and sadly passed away on Friday of last week. The thoughts of all at Gresley Rovers Football Club are with Barry and his family at this very sad time.
Club chairman Gary Norton said “We were extremely saddened to learn about this very sad news at the weekend. As a football club Gresley Rovers owe the North family a lot, especially for the work they did when Barry took over the club as Chairman following the club’s liquidation in 2009 when no-one else wanted to know.

“Whilst Barry was our Chairman, Jackie was forever by his side and did a huge amount for the club alongside Baz for several years. Without them both stepping up there was a genuine risk that we might not have recovered and survived following liquidation but when most would have walked away, they both stuck at it and navigated us through arguably the toughest time in the clubs long history.

“We will forever be in their debt. Jackie was an amazing character to know, and she will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with Barry, his family and all at Carlton Town FC at this very sad time.”
