The 19 year old who had been on Derby`s books for a number of seasons was released last year by the Rams. The Winshill based youngster was a regular scorer at all levels for Derby and can play either up front or on either wing.

Manager Gary Norton said of his new signing: "I had a call on Monday evening indicating that Aaron was interested in chatting to us. He's had a number of trials at various levels since his release from Derby but up to now nothing concrete has come of it.

"He just want's to play regular football and hopefully he can get that with us. If he can get into the team it will put him in the shop window again and if he does well for us who knows where it may lead. He's got bags of pace and comes with great pedigree and comes highly recommended by some of the Derby coaching staff who used to manage him so we will see how things develop.

"We have lots of exciting attacking options now having also added Kyle Bryant in the last few days however we couldn't turn down the chance to sign such a good young player. The competition to perform well in the shirt is now hotter than ever in a number of positions in the team which can only be a good thing."

On the possibility of further signings Norton added: "Overall we are fairly happy with the squad. The extra bodies are going to be useful to have in what looks like being a very busy second half of the season. However, we are keen to add to our defensive options to give us cover and depth in a couple of areas and if if the right type of players come available we will try hard to bring them in. We've been busy speaking to a number of clubs and players in the last week or so and we will see how things develop from there".
