Rovers make a u-turn
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers’ have hurriedly reshuffled their pre-season fixture list to accommodate Fourth Division Chesterfield – only hours after manager Frank Northwood had blasted the fourth division side.
Northwood fired a broadside at the Saltergate club for failing to agree a date for the annual Centenary Rosebowl clash.

But the Rovers’ stalwart offered Chesterfield an apology last night claiming the mix-up had been caused by “ a misunderstanding between the clubs.”

Now Rovers face Chris McMenemy’s full strength side at the Moat Ground on Saturday (3pm) instead of making the trip to meet Beazer League Hednesford Town.

Said Northwood: “Hednesford have arranged to play Oldbury instead.”
