Racing Club Warwick vs Gresley Rovers

Moatmen ride their luck - Andy Parker - Burton Mail

Kevin
Allsop grabbed Rovers' 89th minute equaliser at a boggy Racing Club Warwick
then confessed: "Our first goal should never have been given."

The big frontman, back in the scoring stakes in caretaker Alan Titterton's
rejuvenated side, admitted the ball was "at least a foot" from crossing the
line when the goal was awarded.

That made up for another blunder by officials, however, veteran striker Paul
Eden being allowed to run clear and put Warwick 2-0 up three minutes into the
second half despite being a yard offside when he picked up skipper Richard Follett's
through ball.

Rovers only had themselves to blame, though. They looked comfortable - too
comfortable, if anything - in the opening minutes but then allowed Follett time
and space to crack a 20-yard drive into the top corner of the net and give the
home side an unlikely lead.

Allsop
and top scorer Simon Tucker both missed good chances to level but things finally
started to go Rovers' way when Amrit Sidhu's cross provoked a goalmouth melee
with Tucker laying claim to the goal that never was.

As Rovers pressed for the equaliser Warwick missed a string of chances on the
break with keeper McGing pulling off two good saves.

Justice
was finally done when Andy Cheetham, always a threat on the left, picked up
Ian Bluck's pass and centred to give Allsop an easy chance he buried from six
yards.
