Gresley Rovers Reserves enjoyed a small piece of revenge beating last season's Derbyshire Cup semi final opponents Ashbourne United 6-1 in a friendly at Meadow Lane, Derby.

1st team members Carl Timms and Michael Lonergan both had 45 minutes whilst a few other fringe players staked their place for a 1st team opportunity. In a first half containing most of last seasons squad Mykey Pryce put Rovers ahead midway through the 1st half when he coolly rounded the keeper before slotting home. Pryce added the second 5 minutes later after good work by Ryan Yearsley. It was Yearsley himself who added the 3rd on 35 minutes as his left foot effort found the corner of the net. Wholesale changes at half time saw a number of triallists introduced but that did nothing to stem the flow. Further second half goals from Andy Dunn, Pete Thompson and Tom Bartram rounded of a satisfying performance.
