Quorn vs Gresley Rovers

Trialist Matt Shakespeare started the game as part of a back 3 partnering Paul Grosse and Jim Parkinson for the Reserves game at Quorn.

Rovers started the game well and had much of the early possession. A Ryan Yearsley header from Sandar's free kick tested the keeper but his effort was well held.

The same two combined when Rovers took the lead on 36 minutes. This time Yearsley was provider and his pass from the left inside was finished with the outside of Sandar’s right boot into the top corner of the net.

Three minutes later Sandar broke up a move in midfield and the ball ended up at the feet of Carl Slater who's 1st time shot was handled in the penalty area. For the 2nd week in succession, Slater slotted home from the spot for 2-0.

Quorn got a foothold in the game with a goal early in the 2nd half after poor defending from Rovers allowed Rich Fordam to slot home.

After that lapse the Rovers’ defence were superb and rarely allowed Quorn sight of goal. Sandar had a free kick well saved and Pryce shot over from 18 yards when well placed.
