Highgate United vs Gresley Rovers

New Signings Carl Eagling and Andy Dunn were named in the squad for this game against Highgate United. 16 year old youth teamer Richard Foster was given his 1st start at right back.

On a gluepot of a pitch it was the home side who settled 1st and caused Rovers all sorts of problems.

Brad Clarke was called into action on 14 minutes to save well from Phipps and a few minutes later he again saved well, this time from Glynn. Highgate continued to press and Clarke was again forced to keep his side on level terms tipping Mulgrew long range effort round the post.

Rovers introduced both new signings at half time, Eagling came on up front for Pryce and Dunn for Foster.

Highgate took the lead on 61 minutes after some sloppy Rover defending let in Humphries to slot home from 12 yards. The lead was short lived and Rovers grabbed an equaliser on 63 minutes after some excellent work by new boy Eagling down the left.

He twisted and turned before finding Jenkinson with an excellent cross. Jenkinson scored on the turn for a goal his performance deserved. Andy Dunn had a long range effort wide and Earl Alexander also went close.
