Gresley Rovers Football Club are moving to a new kit supplier in the form of Burton on Trent based supplier TAG Sportswear from next season.

To mark the move the club will be inviting supporters to vote on the choice of both home and away first team strips for the 2024/25 season from a selection of shortlisted designs. Supporters can get involved and vote for their preferred choice of strip for both home and away kits via the clubs social media pages later this week.

On the new alliance with TAG, Rovers Chairman Gary Norton commented, "We are delighted to be working with Tony Footitt and the team from TAG once again and are especially keen to re-establish the positive working relationship we had with them from when we worked with them a few seasons back”.

He added, "Moving Forward Sports have been our kit supplier for the last three seasons and I’d like to place on record the club's thanks to Jamie and the team at MF Sports for their partnership during that time."

"The move back to TAG is something I’ve been personally keen on having reviewed and considered a number of options as a club over recent months based on a number of factors. In the end, the board we were unanimous in our selection of TAG which enables Gresley Rovers Football Club to work once more with a more local supplier for the club’s kits and training wear. TAG are one of the biggest and best at what they do locally and so fit the bill for this partnership perfectly. They have a great reputation and already do so much for so many teams in and around the Burton, Swadlincote and surrounding areas for local grass roots teams of all ages. In addition, since we were last with them, they are now working with an increasing number of more senior clubs at various levels and have grown their business and supply chain accordingly to not only maintain, but improve lead times on a consistent basis which was a major factor in our decision to move back to them as our supplier of choice."

"Both the First and Reserve teams will be moving over to the new kits supplied by TAG next season with other teams from the club's Boys Junior Academy, Girls and Ladies sections and our newly formed supporters club team transitioning over on a phased basis over a period of time as an when new kit and training wear is required or the finances permit.”

“To mark the move, we will be looking to get supporters involved in the choice of new strips we will be having for next season by getting them to vote on their preferred choice on a few designs for both home and away kits we have been working on with TAG over the last few weeks. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kits our supporters pick and then seeing them once delivered sporting the logos of our front of shirt sponsors in UKWS (Home) and Bernstein (Away)”

In other news, the Gresley Rovers club badge has undergone a slight amendment ahead of next season in recognition of our recently formed and ever-growing Girls and Ladies sections. The original club badge currently has the club's nickname "The Moatmen" displayed on it and whilst that remains the club’s mantra the move is another step forward towards a "one club" vision and will enable all Men's, Ladies, Girls and Boys teams to play under one club badge moving forwards.

Speaking about the change Chairman Gary Norton said. “In addition to changing kit supplier we have also taken the decision to make a slight amendment to the club's badge to recognise the increasingly diverse natures of the club’s teams following the hugely successful evolution of both our girls and ladies’ sections over the last season or so. The decision to drop the words “The Moatmen” from the bottom section of the badge and replaced it simply with “Football Club” seemed to be an obvious move given the recent evolution of our female sections of the club. Moving forward all teams, regardless of gender, will be representing Gresley Rovers Football Club wearing the same club badge. We will still of course retain the historical nickname of the Moatmen as a club, it just won’t be on the badges of the kits that both our male and female footballers who represent the club will be wearing moving forwards”.
