Fixture Changes
There has been a fixture change to allow for a special extra game.
On Saturday 14th July there is to be a day to celebrate the life of Ryan Evans who sadly died suddenly at home last week aged just 17 years. Swadlincote based Ryan played for Midland League Premier outfit Quorn FC.

A statement from Quorn said:"Ryan made a great impression on all that he came into contact with, on, and more importantly, off, the pitch." carrying himself with a professionalism and maturity that belied his age.”

"Everyone at Quorn AFC is deeply saddened to hear of the untimely passing of one of the club’s first team players and great prospects."

It continued: “As well as being a first class person off the pitch, Ryan was a highly regarded prospect on it, catching the eye with 12 goals in 42 appearances in a breakout season.

“Our sincerest thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Ryan as we mourn the loss of a much-loved and respected member of the Quorn AFC family.”

Club chairman Stuart Turner said Ryan’s death is being investigated but there are understood to be no suspicious circumstances.

With Ryan having friends in both Gresley's youth and reserve teams Gresley's First and Youth Teams will travel to Farley Way to play Quorn's first team and also the respective youth teams will play on the same day. Kick off's to be announced.

Proceeds will be given to Ryan's family for their chosen charity.

Everyone at Gresley offers their deepest condolences to Ryan's family and friends.

The game against South Normanton will now be played on Tuesday 24th July.
