Final game for Gresley Rovers first team
v Burton Workers (h) 8th April 1916

George (Kibby) Draycott was sold to Bradford City along with two team mates Charlie Storer and Sol Tremelling for the princely collective sum of £150 in February 1913 but returned to Gresley for the start of the 1914 - 1915 season.

During 1915-1916 the league was closed down (April) and fixtures not completed due to the outbreak of World War One and the introduction of conscription.

George was killed in action on 18th September 1918 during the Battle of Epehy. He was a member of the 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment and his Regimental Number was 52364 (in the Great War soldiers received 'Regimental Numbers' by Regiment rather than Army Service Numbers and was formerly 58697 of the Leicestershire Regiment.)

George was born in Newhall, Derbyshire and enlisted in Gresley, Derbyshire. He lived in Leicester and was the husband of Maggie Ellis (formerly Draycott).

George is buried in Grave 21 at Gauche Wood CWGC Cemetery, Villers-Guislain, France.
