Gresley Rovers midfielder Neil Broadhurst topped a memorable week by grabbing a 92nd-minute winner at Blakenhall on Saturday.
Broadhurst scrambled home the loose ball after 'Nall keeper Matthew Lowe had spilled a Kevin Allsop shot to give player-boss John McGinlay victory in his first Dr Martens Western Division game.

Said Broadhurst: "It was definitely a good time to get my first league goal of the season. When it's a tight game like that and you get a late goal it makes it a really sweet win."

Said Broadhurst, who started a new job earlier in the week and graduated from Derby University on the day before the game: "It's my graduation ball tonight and I'll really enjoy it now!"

McGinlay was also savouring the occasion and said, "It was a big, big improvement. When you play dour sides like Blakenhall it becomes a battle and I think that's what we're going to have to do quite a lot. But credit to the lads. They kept going right to the 90th minute and that shows the fitness is getting there. For Neil Broadhurst to make the run and get into the box, anticipate the keeper's save and get a tap-in at that stage of the game is great for him."

McGinlay also singled out skipper Richard Wardle - "man of the match in midfield first half and man of the match in defence second half" - and first half substitute Carl Middleton for praise.

McGinlay played for 77 minutes himself but said: The number eight needs a few more games! It was a last minute decision to play but I thought I could get more out of the players if I was in among them and from that point of view it worked."
