Guest out for season
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Title-chasing Gresley Rovers suffered two setbacks last night.
First the Banks’s Leaguers discovered that midfielder Michael Guest will miss the remainder of the season – and then they crashed to a shock 3-2 defeat at home to Malvern Town.

Guest is entering hospital for a hernia operation and is not expected to recover in time to resume his part in Gresley’s chase for honours.

Rovers’ manager Frank Northwood said: “Michael had made things worse for himself by playing Sunday football as well.”

Northwood’s consolation is that recently-signed Wayne Scally could be back in action on Saturday after being sidelined by a gashed leg.
