Shock signing
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Boss Frank Northwood last night completed a shock transfer swoop for Paget Rangers’ star Wayne Scally.
And the Birmingham-based midfielder – a constant thorn in Rovers’ side during the two clubs’ epic series of six cup, FA Vase and league encounters this season, goes straight into Rovers squad for tomorrow’s trip to Tipton Town (2.30pm) – the club they hammered 9-0 at the Moat Ground a week ago.

Northwood said last night: I’m delighted to have signed Wayne. He’s a class player who I’ve been chasing a long time.”

Defenders John Bottomley and Peter Perry and skipper Richard Denby are added to the squad on duty in the 3-1 midweek defeat at Alfreton.

Long term injury victims Dean Page and Martin Dick are included in Gresley’s reserve team squad for the Division Two trip to Wem Town (2.30pm).
