Redditch pre-match news
Jon Newsome, who has little chance to get to know his players because of midweek matches, took his first training session since becoming manager of Gresley Rovers last night and reports that the spirit among his players is very good despite the disappointing defeat at Alfreton Town on Tuesday.
Jon will again have a full squad to choose from for the visit of Redditch United on Saturday (3pm) except for Ian Bluck still serving his suspension.

Mark Peters has declared himself fit and is in contention for a place.

Barry Woolley succesfuly came through the Alfreton match and Chris Parkins is also back to full fitness.

Chris White is the only doubt due to an ongoing ankle problem and will have a fitness test tomorrow.

Jon said: “I would not mind a win – that would be a start. There is a lot of potential at the club but the biggest thing is that the players need to believe in themselves and their ability more.

“It’s a quite dressing room and they are quite on the pitch. Maybe with me coming in they are a little unsure. I have also changed things around a bit so I can look at other players as well so we will have to wait and see.

“Redditch have put a few good results together and are quite safe now but, on the other hand, that does not take away from the fact that we have to perform.
