McGinlay - no go
John McGinlay has scotched the rumours that he was moving to Leigh RMI.
McGinlay said today: "the first I heard of it was when Mark Evans the Gresley chairman rang me as I was on my way down to the Moat Ground on Wednesday.

"Someone had posted on this website that it had been reported that after Leigh had dismissed their manager John McGinlay was to be appointed.

"I don't know where that rumour came from, perhaps it was to try and rock the boat ahead of the Southport game, but no-one from Leigh had spoken to me.

"Since then there has been reports in my local papers and local radio but I repeat no-one from the club has been in touch with me.

"I would, one day, like to manage at a higher level. It's one of my ambitions but I still have a job to do at Gresley. I was appointed December 2000 and the work I started is still a long way from being finished.

"This club has a lot of big games coming up and it's a good place to be at the moment. Everyone is happy and there are a lot of smiles around the place.
