Bilston pre-match news
John McGinlay may be forced to makes changes to the side that pulled off a memorable victory against Southport on Wednesday night.
Andy Bourne (knee) and Ian Bluck (back) are both rated as doubtful after being substituted during the FA Umbro Trophy match due to injury.

“I hope the two cup games have not taken too much out of the players. At the moment there is no chance of a break and it will be hard to get them going again,” said the Moat boss, “ However, it will give others in the squad a chance for a shirt and we have some big games coming up.

“What system we play tomorrow will largely depend on who we have available. At least it keeps the opposition guessing. We played Barry Woolley up front with the Southport game in mind but has it worked well and I don’t see any reason to change things.

“Bilston will be hoping to bring us down a peg or two, but we have got to try and win the game to keep us were we are in the table.”

One big disapointment is the news that Jake Fairbrother could be out of action for two to three weeks after damaging a knee against Southport.

This means he will definitely miss the Bilston game and could miss the 4th Round of the FA Umbro Trophy against Conference side Morecambe on Feb 2nd at Christie Park.

“I am hoping to bring someone in after hearing Jake’s news. We are looking around to see who’s available. Ideally someone who is not cup tied and can play in the Trophy,” said McGinlay, “Because we’ve already had Ryan Ford, Nick Kennerdale and Sean Cleary on loan we can only have one more and he needs to be the right one. We have put a few calls out to some league clubs to see if they can help us out.”

Players out

Two players have left the Moat Ground this week. Carl Middleton has joined Barwell and Alex Green Ashton United.
