Rowe Confirmed As Gresley Manager
Martin Rowe

Martin Rowe

Martin Rowe was confirmed as the manager of Gresley FC at their Presentation Evening held on Saturday.
Rowe was joint manager with Gary Norton who stepped down at the end of the season after a 10 year stint at the Moat Ground and the Gresley board were unanimous in agreeing to him taking the over the reins.

"It's a great opportunity for me, and I'm glad I've got the job, although I feel I've been doing it anyway" said Rowe. "Since Gary got his new job, Steve Titterton and I have been looking after things for him a lot of the time.

"I think we are ahead of schedule and have come a long way in a short period of time. We finished mid-table and have hardly changed the team from last year.

"Next season is going to be a big challenge and we are all looking forward to it. I've spoken to the majority of the players and they are all keen on stopping at the club and to move this club forward.

"It's been a long hard season but we finished mid table and did well. Our aim for next season will be to get into the play-offs. As Gary Norton has said previously, if we hadn't have had that bad spell during January and February we most likely would have been there but we're not ready for that just yet so in hind sight it may have been a bit of a saving for us."
