Shepshed Pre-Season Match News
Gresley FC entertain UniBond South Shepshed Dynamo in a Moat Ground friendly tomorrow (Saturday)- 3pm.
Gary Norton's men start the task of four games in eight days after it was decided to schedule the postponed Steve Hackett Trophy final into next Tuesday at Newhall.

Next Thursday will see the club travel to face last season's UniBond South runners-up Belper Town in their penultimate friendly fixture before Pontypridd Town from the Welsh League visit next Saturday.

For the Shepshed game John Shales and this week's signing Paul Edwards will both be missing through Cricket commitments whilst Jordi Gough remains sidelined with a back problem.

It is hoped that Gough will be able to resume training in the next few weeks.

Stefan Marshall and Chris Mawbey should all return to the squad. Andrew Hoderin is the only trialist involved in tomorrow's squad after Chris Smith was told last week he would probably only feature on the fringe of the squad to start with. Smith is to try his luck with Barrow Town.

With Carl Timms and Nathan Rolph moving on this week manager Gary Norton is still trying to add to his squad ahead of the season's start on August 11th. The club still await the decision from defender Mark Strezewski as to where he intends to play his football next season.

The club also has a 7 day approach due to expire over the weekend at which point talks can commence with the player concerned

On the squad the manager said: "We have 17 players signed so far for the coming campaign and we feel another couple of additions will give us a good balance to the squad in most areas of it.

"That combined with a few of our Reserve side who are currently capable of stepping up should ensure we have good competition for places in all areas of the team".

Gresley from - Baldwin, Davies, Mawbey, Barrett, Langford, Slater, Lyons, Keenan, A Betteridge, T Betteridge, Elliot, Turville, Marshall, Hill, Hoderin.
