Royce Rolls Into The Moat Ground
Royce Turville is the latest player to join Gresley FC after today agreeing to sign for the club from Heather St John's.
Turville scored over 50 goals for Heather in his last two seasons in the Midland Combination Premier Division and showed his eye for goal after scoring a first half hat trick in the friendly win against Stapenhill this week.

That was enough to persuade manager Gary Norton that he would like to add the striker to his attacking options for the new season.

The striker accepted the club's offer to sign and he will be in the squad to face Coalville Town in a friendly at the Moat Ground this weekend.

On his new recruit Norton commented: "We are obviously happy that Royce has agreed to sign for us from Heather.

"He has regularly scored goals over the last few seasons at the level we are playing at and you could tell the other night that he can finish well.

"By his own admission he is well short on the match fitness we require having not done much in pre-season so far but we will get to work on that straight away with him.

"I'm sure he will fit in well to our squad and we are all looking forward to working on him."

Ironically one of Turville's first competitive games for his new club could be against Heather on August 15th as they travel to the Moat Ground for the FA Cup extra preliminary tie.

Also expected in the squad to face Coalville is Mark Strezewski who had a delayed return from holiday this week.

The central defender is a target of the club but he was delayed by a day and a half on his return from a break abroad.

Gresley are in direct competition with UniBond South new boys Mickloever Sports for his signature with whom he is due to make an appearance tonight (Friday) against Borrowash Victoria.

Norton added: "We are still in the hunt to sign Mark and will chat with him again on Saturday. He will play some part in the game for us and we will then see what the situation is regarding him signing for us or Mickleover.

"Like me he is keen to resolve the issue of where he will be playing his football quite soon so either way we should know if he will be signing or not in the next day or so."
