Gresley Rovers Supporters Club To Launch
On Friday 7th March 2008 a meeting was held to discuss the viability of forming a Gresley Rovers Supporters Club.
After nearly five years of discussing and debating prior to this meeting it was finally blessed and fully endorsed by Gresley Rovers Football Club.

On the night a number of issues were discussed ranging from forming a committee to fundraising and creating a constitution.

It was declared that those interested would have to act swiftly in order to reach the initial targets, it was also decided by the consensus that Mike Freeman and James Southern should take interim charge of hitting a number of targets, most notably gauging interest of potential members at the next home which also happened to be the following day.

The interest shown was extremely encouraging and another meeting was set for Friday 14th March 2008 following the Fans Forum, to nominate and elect an interim committee.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the following people as active committee members of the interim committee, they are as follows;

Chairman: Mike Freeman
Vice-Chair: Carol Charlton
Secretary: Richard Eley
Treasurer: James Southern
Sub-Committee: Andrew Dunn, Jamie Ball, Todd Foster and Steve Gee.

Please Note: There are still three vacant places on the sub-committee available, please see any of the above named people if you are interested.

This however is where the real hard work begins. And without sounding to desperate your club really does need you. This is an independent body being run by fans for fans and for the future prosperity of Gresley Rovers Football Club.

However this can only become reality if you yourselves become active members of Gresley Rovers Supporters Club.

Our first main aim is to go live on Saturday 19th April 2008, our last home game, here is where our first membership drive will take effect.

Membership costs/benefits will be announced following the next committee meeting which will be held on Tuesday 25th April 2008.

Also a point to remember anyone who becomes a member prior to the 31st July 2008 will have a number of days, weeks or months free.

The summer of 2008 will also be a hard working one where we will be pro-actively promoting the Supporters Club, we are hoping to have a fun day potentially in May, however all this will be confirmed before the close season.

One last point anyone wanting or willing to get involved please contact any of the above named persons. Please be part of a new era and Live the Dream!

Kind Regards
The Executive Committee of GRSC.
