Reserve Team Management Appointments
Gresley Rovers are pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Acton and David Clay as Reserve Team Manager and Assistant Manager respectively.
The appointments follow the departure of Simon Van-de-Broucke and John Phillips, who recently left the Club to join Borrowash Victoria as joint First Team Manager and Reserve Team Manager.

Dave Acton who last season worked as the Reserve Team Coach, has also over the last few years managed the develop of the Clubs Junior section, which now consists of 12 teams and a weekly soccer school; with age ranges from under 8s to under 18s and a team of 12 team managers and coaches.

David Clay, who works as a Coach at Coca-Cola Football League Leicester City's Academy, has managed several local semi professional sides including Shepshed Dynamo.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman Mark Evans said: "We have over the last few years demonstrated our ability as a football club to develop local junior and youth football players, and I am very proud of the work that has been undertaken within both the juniors and youth team management teams.

We are already seeing this season in both performance and results …quot; as individuals and as a team the terrific work that has been done within our Youth Team, a credit to Bob and his staff.

It is important therefore that our Reserve Team meet the challenges of maintaining that good work and providing a framework to support the progression and development of players, whilst providing a resource to the First Team squad both in the immediate and medium term and being a outlet for squad players to gain and maintain match fitness.

I am delighted that both Dave and David have agreed to accept the challenges and I am confident that within the Club, we have a team of Managers and Coaches that together will be able to attract, develop, motivate, and produce players that will over time at every level generate the success we all work so hard to achieve."

On announcing the appointment Mark Evans added "I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to both Simon and John for the tremendous hard work and effort that they both put into the Reserve Team, I would like to wish them all the very best for the future at their new club."
