Simon Van de-Brooke's Reserve team news
Simon Van de-Brooke

Simon Van de-Brooke

Its been a strange old week for the Reserves, last Saturday we won the away 1st leg of our semi-final against Worcester City (1st Team) 2 -1, arguably our best battling performance of the season, then Wednesday it was revealed that Worcester had fielded two ineligible players, and were promptly removed from the competition, sorry Worcester but the winner takes it all.
It’s a funny old game!

So Cup Final here we come!!! (All support gladly received)

This week our home league game against Rugby Reserves was called off due to a frozen pitch, so we had the entire squad in for a 2 hour training session on the triangle, isn’t it amazing how the thought of a cup final can prompt the entire squad to attend a training session.

Today we are away to Oadby Town Reserves which will be our 1st meeting with them this season, so a little bit into the unknown.

I had hoped to involve two of our new signings Kelly-Wally and Dolman against Rugby this week-end gone, but due to them both being either injured or ill, that and the game being called off prevented them getting their Reserve Team debuts, this I hope to amend today at Oadby.

Both lads have been signed from Burton Albion Youth Team and are currently playing in our Youth Team at the moment, both lads have shown great ability and attitude, enough for me to believe that they can be permanent members of the reserves for the rest of this and next season.

On the subject of next season with the quality of young players coming through it looks as though we will be fielding one of the youngest reserve teams seen in a while at the Moat.

Now on to the 1st team they are at home today to Halesowen Town in a must win game,
So lets give Gaz and the lads all our support today and for the rest of the season, all teams go through bad patches (apart from Arsenal ) and that is when the team need the supporters most, so give the lads a lift today and help them end this run, right here right now!

Scream if you want to go faster
