Injury blow for Blucky
Ian Bluck

Ian Bluck

Long serving player Ian Bluck has been dealt a blow in his comeback from a career-threatening injury.
Ian was told he might not play again after rupturing his cruciate ligaments against Buxton in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup back in August.

Since then, the chances of him turning out for Gresley have improved but he may need further surgery on his knee.

Manager Gary Norton said: "Ian has not recovered as quickly as we would have hoped and he's going back to see his surgeon in the New Year but he may need another operation.

"It's a big blow for him. Ian is very down at the moment as football means so much to him.

"He's still getting pain when he tries to run and he's really struggling. We'll just have to be patient."
