Joined Derby County as an apprentice after leaving school and spent three years at the Baseball Ground playing at Central League level. Had a spell at Willenhall in the Beazer Homes League. At Gresley won Banks's League Championship and Derbyshire Senior Cup winner' medals in 1990-1991.

Signed for Worcester City from Bilston Town in December 1991. Released by Worcester December 1992. Then signed for Solihull Borough
