1905-1906 Joint top scorer with 7 league goals (not all goals recorded).

In January 1918 Arthur, while serving with the Royal Sussex Regiment, was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field. On 28th April 1918 Arthur and two comrades went on a reconnaissance patrol during heavy fighting in an area around Elzenwalle Chateu during the German's Spring Offensive. None of them returned and their bodies were not recovered. All three men are remembered on the Tye Cot Memorial.
