After the war, Dickinson moved to Torquay, where he became a pillar of the town cricket club, occasionally played for Devon, and was a driving force behind the Torquay festival, which thrived in the 1950s as a rival to Scarborough and Hastings.]

Ted died in Torquay on 24th March 2003 aged 89
