Frank to leave the Moat
Frank McArdle

Frank McArdle

Frank McArdle has announced that he will step down from his Gresley Rovers rescue mission at Christmas.
Frank was called in by the club two months ago when a financial crisis threatened to bring an end to the 117 years of football at the Moat Ground. His day to day involvement with the club will end on December 27th, when fans will be brought up to date on Rovers' current situation at a public meeting in the Moat Ground social club. Supporters will be told while the club's dire financial situation has eased, the position remains grave. McArdle said "My task is coming to an end. The club has re-discovered itself and the supporters have had a great impact on that, many of their ideas and other new inicatives have brought in new investment of well into 5 figures and while it has not been possible to transfer this to the field it's helped address the financial situation the club finds itself in. The club is not out of the woods yet by some way, so what I'm suggesting is that we make a position statement and present a business plan for the rest of the season." McArdle stressed while he would return to his role of patron of the Derbyshire F.A. after bringing an end to his Moat mission, he will remain available to the club in an advisory capacity and continue to support Rovers "Through the turnstiles". Meanwhile, club vice-president Peter Freer, a retired Leicester business man, has been appointed to the new office of patron while directors Mark Evans and Barrie Morton will spearhead Gresley's commercial relaunch at the Shepshed game, when new club products will be unveiled and sponsorship deals announced.
