Swindon Supermarine pre-match news
Gresley Rovers visit Supermarine on the back of two fine victories 4-0 at home to Buxton in the Derbyshire Senior Cup and 5-1 away at Racing Club Warwick.
With no game last Saturday manager Jon Newsome is hoping that his refreshed side can now string together some good results.

“Things were not going too well but we turned the corner and then we had a break from games. That has given the lads a bit of time to recharge their batteries and now we are ready to start again. It’s important that we now get back on track. We have been dragged back into the pack and we need a few wins to get us back up there in the league.

“It was good to see Smudger (Gary Smith) back on target with a hat trick at Warwick and all the lads are looking lively.

“Swindon are struggling at the bottom and scrapping for everything so we have to go about it the right way. We have to prepare both physically and mentally and give ourselves every opportunity to get a positive result and set ourselves up for a decent Christmas run. We do have to watch out that we are not too confident at Swindon just because they have yet to win a league game.

“They put in a much improved performance for their new manager Ray Baverstock in their 2-1 defeat at home by Taunton and will be hoping to build on that tomorrow.”

Defender Stuart Evans has begun training after suffering a hairline fracture of his shin and could be available in two or three weeks.

Owen James will not be available after suffering whiplash in a car accident.
