The Beazer Homes League revealed today that at least seven clubs will be challenging for the two Midlands Division promotion places.
Speaking on the League’s official Clubcall line, secretary Dennis Strudwick has included Banks’s League rivals Gresley and Rocester in the list of hopefuls.

Both clubs have been visited by a ground grading committee from the League and are hopeful of meeting the stringent requirements.

But it appears that they will face stiffer competition than at first envisaged. Banks’s champions Hinckley Town are now in the hunt, although they are yet to have their ground inspected, and four further applicants have been declared.

Leading the way are Nene Group League teams Holbeach United and Rothwell Town.

They like the three Banks’s sides have already qualified on league position but Scoreline Combination outfit Evesham United need a point at Bolehall on Saturday to move into the top three and put themselves in with a chance.

Federated Homes League champions Newport AFC have the handicap of a ground share proposal but could move in if others slip up.

Two further clubs looking for promotion are Eastern Counties side Sudbury and the other Newport – from the Isle of Wight.

However, both will be looking for a Southern Division place.
