Rovers go for treble
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers hope to safely return the Derbyshire Senior Cup to the Moat Ground trophy cabinet tonight by completing a two-leg final victory over Matlock Town (7.30pm).
Rovers, looking for a hat trick of wins in the competition, helped their cause by drawing 1-1 at Causeway Lane in the first leg.

Now Frank Northwood’s men will be looking to make home advantage count against their HFS Loans League opponents.

Their only injury worry is striker Brian Beresford who damaged an ankle in a reserve team game.

Rovers fans will be hoping that success tonight will be the first instalment of a double triumph that will also see the Banks’s League title come to the Moat Ground.

However, their championship hope took a setback last night when rivals Hinckley Town recorded a 2-0 victory over Tividale.
