Gresley Rovers will announce their first signing for the coming season when they unveil Danny Hobby at this evenings match at the Moat Ground against Stockport County.
Danny has been a target of Gresley for some time and is a much-admired player.

Forward or right-winger, Danny’s previous clubs include Port Vale, Newcastle Town and Kidsgrove Athletic. He joined Leek Town in July 1999 and was in his third spell at Leek after returning from Kidsgrove Athletic in April 2002.

Jon Newsome commented that Danny has been highly recommended and feels that he is an excellent acquisition for Gresley. Danny already knows a few of the existing players and has already settled in well.

Chairman Mark Evans said he was delighted that Danny has chosen to join Gresley, “He has been a target of the Club in the past, and I am glad that he has decided to come and join us. We are fortunate to have a good squad at the Club, the majority of last season's side have remained with us and we have some great players coming through our youth and reserve sides.”

Jon added, “This evening's match against Stockport is going to give me the opportunity to look at a few more players as we look to strengthen the team in preparation for the new season.”
