Now Rushall chase Beattie
Story courtesy of
Banks’s League title rivals Rushall Olympic have joined the chase for Gresley Rovers’ out-of-favour fullback Dave Beattie.
But Rovers boss Frank Northwood warned today: “Unless someone coughs up the money, the boy won’t be going anywhere.”

Beattie has already agreed personal terms with Beazer Homes Midland Division club Stourbridge.

Yesterday, however, Rushall boss Bill Challenor also made an inquiry about the Irishman.

Northwood said: We’re prepared to let Dave go and at the end of the day which club he joins will be his decision providing they meet our asking price.”

Northwood received better news last night about two of Rovers’ causalities from the Boxing Day clash with Hinckley Athletic.

Striker Paul Acklam, whose leg injury briefly reduced Gresley to ten men, expects to be fit for the trip to Harrisons on Saturday and midfield maestro Richard Denby is also optimistic about his chances of playing.

Denby is nursing a hamstring injury but is optimistic that three sessions of intensive treatment will repair the damage.

Two other strikers, Graham Jones and Tracey Norton, are definite non-starters, however, because of ankle and groin injuries.
