Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood tonight unveils another surprise signing.
And Northwood believes the Banks’s League visit of GKN Sankey (7.30) could mark the arrival of a new goal scoring legend in South Derbyshire.
He introduces Dave Morrison – captured secretly from Southern League Stourbridge last week – hoping that the former Oldbury ace can reproduce the form that made him the west Midlands’ hottest property last season.

Morrison, a 26-year-old tyre fitter, grabbed an incredible 50 goals for Oldbury United as he streaked to the top of the Banks’s League scoring charts.

A move to Stourbridge via Willenhall followed. But after the recent departure of Gresley’s former goal idol Brian Beresford to Stapenhill, Northwood moved swiftly to get his man.

But the chop and change Moat chief leaves out three of the players who featured in Saturday’s 1-1 league cup semi-final draw at Tamworth.

He drops midfielders Guy Hall and Clive Arthur and omits striker Martin Devaney, who has suffered a bereavement, reinstating full back Martin Dick, sweeper Dean Page and Gary Stevens and drafting in former GKN winger Martin Mackenzie.
