Simms debut

Young goalkeeper Ian Sims will make his Gresley Rovers league debut at home to Gloucester City (Saturday KO 3pm).
The 19-year-old impressed in the Moatmen's 3-2 FA Umbro Trophy first round victory at North Ferriby last week and keeps his place in the team for tomorrow's clash against a Gloucester side beaten just twice in the league this season but who are just a point better off than Rovers.

While Simms keeps his place Ian Wright, unavailable last week, does not even make the squad, Simon Baldwin is included with Richard Selby out injured.

Boss Brian Kenning admits he has a huge dilemma regarding the club's goalkeeping situation.
"I have spoken to all the goalkeepers at the club and I have told them that we have too many," said Kenning.
"We have five keepers, which is too many for two teams, and I will look at the situation over the next few months and sort it out. As for Ian Simms, he had a bit to do last week and did quite well and I see no reason why he shouldn't keep his place."

Kenning is still without the suspended Steve Coates, while Matt Warren is getting married, but Richard Wardle has recovered from a knock and Richie Gardner seems to have shaken off his hamstring injury.

Despite their disappointing league position, Kenning is well aware that Gloucester will pose a big threat on Saturday.

"They are not bad and are a good footballing side," said Kenning." We played them on the opening day and drew2-2 and it was quite a good game. They are down the league but have been involved in cup matches and it'll be a real test. We have got to be more consistent and I want to get our home form even better."
