Wright gets his chance

Ian Wright is recalled to the Gresley Rovers side for tomorrow's Moat Ground clash with Shepshed Dynamo (3pm) after Richard Selby was ruled out for two weeks with ligament damage in his shoulder.
Wright began the season as first choice but lost his place to the man signed from Hinckley United in the summer.

However, Selby was forced to leave the field in the 81st minute of last Saturday's defeat at Bedworth United.

That gives Wright the chance to reclaim the No.1 jersey and boss Brian Kenning is urging him to take advantage.

Said the Moat Boss: "Wright is back and it's up to him to stake a claim and stay in- I'm sure he'd rather be playing than watching."

Mark Peters, Ritchie Gardner and Adie Doughty have all been hit by the flu bug, with Kenning facing an anxious wait to see if they will be fit.

As a result Kenning has added Andy Cheetham and Dave King to his squad for the game against the side lying seventh in the Dr Martens Western Division. " We have watched them and they are a good footballing team and I think it will suit us playing against a fellow good footballing side," he said.

Gresley from: Wright, Broadhurst, Gardner, Doughty, Warren, Bluck, Wardle, Coates, Allsop, Tucker, Peters, Roberts, Sandar, Reynolds, Cheetham, King.

Gresley reserves are away to Bromsgrove Rovers (2.45pm)
