Evesham pre-match news
John McGinlay will have a major decision to make as to who will spearhead his sides’ attack against Evesham United at Common Road tomorrow (3pm).
Simon Tucker, Dave Whittaker and Chris White all scored in the thrilling 5-3 victory at Cinderford midweek and Chris Parkins, the leading goal scorer, is back in the frame after missing that game due to work commitments.

“I thought Whittaker and Tucker did very well on Tuesday. You could see that they had played together before and also White came off the bench to score again. It’s very pleasing to see the strikers scoring because that has been a major problem for us this season,” said the Moat Ground boss.

In defence, Barry Woolley could be back after seeing a chiropractor during the week. McGinlay said: “Barry has told me he feels a lot better but we will have to see how he feels later to make sure it hasn’t stiffened up again, but he is not looking to bad.”

Stuart Evans is still looking very doubtful. Evans injured an ankle against Rocester and was forced to miss the Cinderford game. “I’m waiting to hear from Stuart but I’m hoping to have at least one of my centre backs for tomorrow’s match.

“We need to play the same at Evesham as we did at Cinderford. That was some of the best football we’ve played all season and our one and two touch passing was very good.

“Evesham seem to be back on track after suffering a bit of a dip in form. They are a very good side and it’s perhaps the wrong time to be playing them.”

Jake Fairbrother will be having a scan on his knee next Wednesday. McGinlay said: “Jake’s knee is still giving him some discomfort and he doesn’t know whether to play through the pain. Hopefully the scan will settle his mind.”
