Rocester pre-match news
James Lindley will return to the number 1 shirt after Saul Deeney’s loan spell ended last Saturday. Lindley is now fully recovered from a fractured eye socket picked up in the Umbro FA Trophy game at Morecombe.
Andy Bourne looks certain to face his old club after recovering from a knee injury that John McGinlay thought needed resting for a couple of weeks to clear it up. “Andy didn’t want to be rested but now sees that it has done him good”; said the Moat Boss.

Ian Bluck also looks set for a first team place after recovering from an injury but Jake Fairbrother looks doubtful.

McGinlay said: “Jake did a bit of training midweek and we will see how he his tomorrow but I’m not sure he is ready yet.”

“We will wait and see what side we will put out tomorrow. More players are coming back from injury so that will give us a few options. We may change things up front to try out a few new permutations.

“ We also need to take into account that we have a visit to Cinderford on Tuesday night.

“Rocester will come to the Moat Ground and battle I’m sure of that. They are in the same position as we were last season so I expecting a tough game because they are fighting for their lives and trying to stay in this league. Every point counts when you are where they are.

“I went to watch them on Tuesday and I thought they were very unlucky. It was a very even game and they took the lead early in the game, but Shepshed managed to scrape a point through a Rocester own goal well into added time.

“I’m expecting them to play in a similar way to Cinderford so we need to be more creative so that we can break down sides who come here for a point and shut up shop. It’s a compliment in a way that teams are doing that but we need to have more ideas on how to break them down.”

Gresley could face ex-Moatman Paul Fletcher on Saturday. Fletcher joined Rocester after failing to make Gresley’s first team on a regular basis. But, with the Romans short of players he could figure in their plans.

Gresley Rovers from: Lindley, Bluck, Evans, Woolley, Cheetham, Wardle, Peters, Coates, Callan, Gray, Bourne, Fairbrother, White, Parkins, Whittaker, Tucker.
