Rovers seek a hat-trick
Story courtesy of Glenn Brookes - Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers boss Brian Kenning wants to score a hat-trick tomorrow (14th) - but he will not be straying onto the pitch.
The Moat chief is hoping to steer his side to their third successive victory at Bedworth United but knows this will be the hardest of the three.

The confidence is starting to flow back to the side after victories over Bromsgrove and Paget Rangers but Kenning knows Bedworth, who have the exact same record as the Moatmen, will be a different matter.

He said: " It will be nice to get a hat-trick but tomorrow is the most difficult of the three games. Bedworth has always been a hard place to go to but we are slowly getting it together and there have been encouraging signs in the last two games." One of those encouraging signs has been the form of the new striker Simon Tucker, who set up Richard Wardle's winner against Bromsgrove then opened his Rovers account with two against Paget.

He and midfielder Ritchie Gardner seem to have breathed new life into the Moatmen. "We knew what we were getting with Ritchie in that he has played in the Conference and he is capable of anything he wants to do," said the Moat boss. "Simon is an unknown quantity but has shown he is a threat and his two finishes the other night were excellent. He and Kevin Allsop looked good together. We have a tough month coming up and it would be nice to go into that with our unbeaten run intact as it will give the players confidence."

Kenning names an unchanged squad, while Dave King and Carl Middleton play for the reserves who are at home to Bromsgrove tomorrow (14th). Kick off 2.45pm.
