Market Drayton Town Pre-Match News
The return of defender John Guy from a knee injury has given Gresley manager Wayne Thornhill a dilemma ahead of tomorrow's game at the Moat Ground against Market Drayton Town - 3pm.
Guy suffered a serious knee injury which had kept him out of the side since September but he made an impressive start against play-off rivals Spalding United on Tuesday alongside fellow defender Jamie Barrett keeping the Tulips largely ineffective up front.

However, Thornhill should have defender Mitch Hanson available for the game after recovering from a foot injury which has kept him out of the last two games.

But Gresley boss Thornhill says Hanson may not return straight to centre-back alongside captain Jamie Barrett given Guy's impressive return to first team action in his absence.

"Mitch could have been in the squad against Spalding but he just felt it was a little bit too soon for him," said Thornhill. So we're hopeful he'll be involved in the squad against Market Drayton.

"I don't know if he'll be ready for tomorrow's game which is what he seems to be aiming for. John's a good player and has played at this level for a long time and after a performance like his against Spalding, will I throw Mitch in? I don't know. It depends on how John recovers in the build-up to the game. So it is a headache but it's a nice headache to have."

The news is not so good for defender Jake Carlisle. The young defender, on loan from Ilkeston FC, has been impressive since signing in November but he unfortunately aggravated a knee injury against Leek Town which will now require an operation to clear up. He could still play before the surgery which is scheduled for the middle of April depending on how sore it feels. However, he will need at least three weeks to recover from the operation which will probably end the youngster's season.
