Kidsgrove Athletic Pre-Match News
Gresley FC are hoping for a good crowd at the Moat Ground on Saturday against Kidsgrove Athletic as manager Gary Norton takes his seat in the dugout for final time at home this season.
He announced last weekend that he would be stepping down and said "It's my last home game in charge, so it will be emotional. I'm quite an emotional person, so I'm sure I'll get a lump in my throat at some point. Hopefully, there will be a decent crowd because I'd like to say thanks to the fans and even though we've got nothing to play for I'm very keen to win the match."

Norton who has been in charge for over ten years and over five hundred games will not be leaving the club as he's been invited to join the board which he's accepted.

Marc Goodfellow will miss the game due to a two game ban after collecting ten yellow cards and Jamie Barrett is a doubt with a fractured hand picked up against Loughborough Dynamo last week.

Kidsgrove Athletic parted company with manager Shaun Hollinshead on Wednesday night. Hollinshead left the Seddon Stadium after a run of five straight defeats which led to talks with Chairman John Rowley. His final game in charge saw Athletic beaten 1-0 by a late Chasetown goal last Saturday.

Athletic have appointed Anthony Buckle as caretaker manager. Former Kidsgrove midfielder Buckle was assistant manager to Peter Ward last season and was joint manager alongside David Twigg back in 2004-06.
