Ellistown Pre-Match News
Gresley take on Ellistown of the East Midlands Counties League in the final of the Coalville Charity Cup tonight at Bardon Hill - 7pm kick off.
Manager Gary Norton will field his strongest side as he hopes they can finish on a high after coming unstuck in their final league game at the Moat Ground on Saturday. Despite the defeat the day was one of celebration as they were presented with the Midland Football Alliance Champions trophy in front of the biggest gate of the season.

Norton said that neither him nor his players were pleased with how they'd ended the season with a performance that was below the standard they'd set themselves so tonight they want to make amends.

Skipper and goalkeeper Gary Hateley is in the Far East on a business trip so Tom Gutteridge will come in to take the number one shirt. Norton said: "Tom will get his well earned chance. He may not have played many games, but when he has, he's done well, and he's played his part in us winning the league."

Both Danny Holmes and James Jepson will be available as their suspensions, which will now run into next season, do not apply to this charity competition. Jamie Barrett is a slight doubt but Norton is hoping the vice-captain will recover from injury in time having been unable to get him on the pitch against Alvechurch.

Gresley from: Gutteridge, T Betteridge, Gough, Nottingham, Strzyzewski, Lyons, Langford, Spencer, Hanslow, Oliver, Massingham, Goodfellow, Barrett, A Betteridge, Turville, Bryant, Jepson, Holmes.
