Goalkeeping Coach Steps Down
Gary Belcher has decided to step down from his role as Goalkeeping Coach for the 2009-10 season due to increased work commitments.
Belcher joined the club in November 2007 and quickly proved to be a valuable and popular member of Gary Norton's coaching team.

During his time with Rovers he helped improve performance levels of the club goalkeepers considerably- a fact that is demonstrated by Dave Clarke's two personal awards last season and the three awards this season shared between the clubs keepers Simon Baldwin (2) and Tom Allen.

Manager Gary Norton paid tribute to Belcher's time with the club saying: "Gary has been a great asset to us over the last couple of seasons. Not a lot of clubs at this level of non league have the luxury of a goalkeeping coach at their clubs, let alone one of the quality of Gary.

"He is one of the most professional guys I have ever worked with in football and he has helped all the keepers at the club improve considerably during his time here. We have been very lucky to have Gary with us and most of what he did whilst with us he did for free which speaks volumes about the man.

"Unfortunately due to changes to his work commitments both at the college he works at and his other coaching commitments he feels that he will not have enough time to commit to the travelling and time required to continue in the role for the coming season.

"He will however be supporting some of our training sessions with the clubs keepers in the coming season as and when time permits."
