Official Club Statement
Today I am announcing that I am standing down as Chairman of Gresley Rovers Football Club - with immediate effect.
I believe that I have taken the Club as far as I can over the last 6 years and that this move is in the best interests of the football club.

A new group of local business men have agreed to form the basis of a new Board of Directors and I believe that they have the appropriate levels of skill and experience to take Gresley Rovers forward and secure its future on a stronger and firmer basis. They will bring a new focus and energy to the Football Club.

I have very much enjoyed my time at Gresley Rovers, moreover I love the Club, but this decision has been taken with the Club's long term future and stability in mind. Obviously I am sad to be stepping down and I do have to admit that the decision has been a very difficult and an emotional one to make, but I am certain it is the right one with the club's future in mind.

I would like particularly like to thank Gary Norton, his management team and all the players who over the years who have worked hard and been so committed and loyal. I regard them all as friends.

I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to the many people that have helped and supported me over the years and to the supporters a very big thank you for making me so welcome at the Moat Ground.
