Cup run so important says McGinlay
John McGinlay believes an FA Cup run has become more important for Non-League sides.
Rovers face league rivals Bloxwich United tomorrow (Sat) in a Preliminary Round tie, knowing a run of three good results could land the club a much-needed cash windfall.

If successful, Rovers stand to collect £16,000 in prize money by reaching the third qualifying round.

"There is a lot of money up for grabs which makes the FA Cup more important this season. We need to win because we need the money – it's as simple as that.

"Bloxwich are a very physical side but we are very confident with the team we have got," said the Moat boss.

There are, however, injury worries for some of the squad making McGinlay's selection difficult.

Skipper Stuart Evans and striker Neil Kitching are both suffering groin strains, and Andy Cheetham has a bruised foot.

John Allcock, who has missed the last two games, discovered after a visit to a specialist he is suffering from internal bleeding around his hamstring. He has been given medication and told it will take seven to ten days to settle down.

Chris Parkins has been suffering from a cold during the week.

McGinlay said; " It's an important game for us and I will have to decide who to risk if any."

Keeper Mark Sheils has had his operation on his troublesome knee and will be out for three months
