New Stadium a Step Nearer
Gresley Rovers Football Club are pleased to announce that South Derbyshire District Council have accepted the club's bid for a grant to enable them to purchase the Moat Ground which is a big step towards their move into a new stadium.
The Moat Ground has been the home of Gresley Rovers since 1909 and it has been their dream of moving to a new base for the last sixteen years since the idea was first raised. For various reasons the move never materialised but now that dream could be realised in the very near future.

Speaking this morning club chairman Mark Evans said: I'm delighted and really appreciate the fact that our local council have accepted the club's application and awarded the grant.

"I will be meeting with the council early next week to progress the matter and the project team, who have been tasked with managing the re-location to the new stadium, will be meeting in the near future.

"Several interested parties have already been in touch with the club with regards the purchase of the Moat Ground and meetings have been arranged over the next few weeks.

"This is a very important milestone for the club but there still remains a lot of work to be done but nevertheless this is another step towards the goal of realising the dream of moving into a new stadium".
