Keith Cheetham

Gresley Rovers Football Club were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Keith Cheetham a former player and father of Andy.
Keith began his Gresley career in a Central Alliance game on the 20th August 1966 by scoring in the 7-0 victory against Alfreton Town Reserves.

He went on to make 70 appearances in the two seasons he played at Gresley scoring 11 goals and was the first player to be named as a substitute against Belper Town in the FA Cup on the 3rd September 1966. His position in the team was normally playing either at right back or right half but was also a very competent forward when called upon.

During his time at the club Rovers won two league championships, the Bass Charity Vase and the Johnson Cup

Keith's final appearance was in a 5-2 victory over Shirebrook on 11th May 1968.

Everyone connected to Gresley Rovers send their deepest sympathy to the family.
