Players to fight for first team places
Saturday's games against Eagley Sports will give manager John McGinlay chance to see who will be filling the first team shirts for next season.
John has told his players "If you don't impress, you'll be on your bike".
Some pruning will need to be done before the season starts, as the squad is a little top-heavy.
He said; " We can't carry the number of players we've got and the knock on effect is that the players will be playing for their shirts and there's not one of them who's under any illusion about the situation. No one can be sure of their place, as there are no first, reserve or youth team players. If they train hard and impress me on the field they'll be playing at the start of the season whoever they are."

The squad John has taken up to Lancashire does not include some players because he knows what they can do for him. "We'll do a lot of experimenting during today's matches, perhaps playing people out of position and trying a few things out, but it's all about having a look at them." he said.

It was also revealed that James Lindley, the Notts County keeper released by them at the end of last season, has returned to Gresley determined to fight for a first team shirt.
Also that the club are in negotiations with Dale Horton former Leek Town and Crewe Alexandra centre-half.

As part of Newhall United's 75th anniversary celebrations Gresley has agreed to play them in a friendly next Saturday 28th , 3.00pm at the Hawfield Ground, Newhall.
Admission for the game will be 1 and 50p concessions.
